Steven J. Leiter, Esq.
Steven Leiter is a partner and co-founder of Leiter & Belsky. Mr. Leiter has handled claims and suits throughout the state of Florida involving Personal Injury Protection, insurance coverage, auto negligence, premises liability, uninsured motorist claims, and products liability. Mr. Leiter has tried cases involving PIP, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, products liability, and wrongful death. Mr. Leiter has also served as an arbitrator in PIP insurance claims and has been qualified as an expert in PIP at attorney fee hearings in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.
Mr. Leiter authored Abrogation of Joint and Several Liability for Non-Economic Damages, For the Defense, December 1993. He was selected to serve as a faculty member at the Annual Business Meeting of the Conference of County Court Judges (July 1996). In addition to being a frequent lecturer for insurance companies on PIP issues and proper claims handling procedures, he has also served as a faculty member at seminars sponsored by Professional Education Systems Institute, LLC., including Hot Topics & Trends in Florida PIP Litigation (August 2004), Hot Topics, Trends and the Future of P.I.P. (April 2006), Florida PIP Litigation: Hot Topics, Trends and the Future of P.I.P. (April 2009, April 2010, April 2011).
Mr. Leiter earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia (1989), and his Juris Doctorate degree (cum laude), from the University of Miami School of Law (1992), where he also served as an Articles and Comments Editor for The Inter-American Law Review.
He is admitted to practice in Florida (1992), Georgia (1995), the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (1993), and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (2001) and is also a member of the Broward County Bar Association.
